Dear NES Teachers:
We are excited you are interested in submitting for a NEF Grant this fall! The foundation will award grants to support faculty who have a unique idea for a project or professional development opportunity that will supplement your regular classroom curriculum. Preference will be given to faculty who are passionate about integrating science, technology and/or the arts to create a more engaging experience for their students. The first step for the 2018 grant cycle is to submit a letter of intent (LOI). Please download the 2018 NEF Call for Grant Proposals document which outlines the requirements for your LOI. Letters must be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 25, 2018 (Round 1) or August 15, 2018 (Round 2 for new NES teachers only).
If your LOI is approved, we will send you the full application via email. Our hope is that you will think, plan, and maybe even draft your application over the summer break. Applications must include a completed blue form* with signatures obtained from both Linda Koval, NES bookkeeper, and Adam Hill, NES principal, prior to submission. Final applications (with all required forms and signatures) are to be submitted to the front office by Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 3:30pm. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
*Blue forms should indicate the cost of materials for the project or professional development, including taxes and shipping. Please see Ms. Koval for a list of tax-exempt suppliers available to the school.
Please do not hesitate to call or email your questions. Happy writing!
